Can we have a full disclosure from the committee as to what the costs
Jul 7 2007, 7:48 PM EDT
are for this reunion? I know the golf course is not charging us, other than out of our own pockets. The Fox & Hound should not be charging us. And the City picnik should be minimal. The Sat. night HALL should have a fee, but, how much?Postage & thick paper invitations are expensive, HOW MUCH (we should do this electronically, NO COST)
Nonof this should be secret. How about our class donating to a local charity in our CLASS NAME?
We actually should start a funding of a private charitable organization on behalf of the class of 82.

I personally don't believe full disclosure is necessary. I am sure alot of the cost went toward planning the event as well as notifying classmates, etc, etc. I think we should focus on getting to the reunion, having a good time, and maybe before the end of the festivities, complete a survey to determine future plans for the committee. Does anyone agree?

I agree with Sonnidot34. I don't believe full disclosure is necessary, I believe the costs to be reasonable and I will be attending.
Having been part of the process I can say, cost is a primary consideration. The committee works to keep it as reasonable as possible so that we can have as many classmates attend as possible.

I especially agree with Sonnidot34's "let's focus on on getting to the reunion and having a good time." I am looking forward to a great reunion and seeing friends and classmates again. We only do this every 5 years.

Having participated in the planning last time and knowing how much effort goes into it I, for one, hope they take anything left over and blow it all on a big dinner and Margarita's for the whole committee. I doubt anything that is left over would even start to cover all of their cell phone bills. They have worked hard on this. Just put a little trust in them and appreciate their work.

I think we need a new committee to begin hearings immediately on the old committee. What did they know and when, I ask? Serious consideration should be given to impeachment of the secretive committee members? I've been told that at least one committee member has a relative that works for Halliburton! Do it for the children! Please no more blood for oil... no wait, that's another matter. Clearly the committe is trying to enrich themselves and thier buddies in BIG REUNION. After all, they tricked me into not sending in my money on time! Now they get an additional twenty bucks! Damn them! Damn them all! Do you find this valuable?

Now, that's just too funny...but on a more serious note, I hope whoever brought up the whole disclosure thing makes it to the reunion and has an absolute blast...we won't jump him/her...I promise...

It WAS fun. Please don't ever let the money keep you away. If you feel you can't afford it, simply and discreetely let me (or most anyone else, I guess) know, and I'll bet there would be a way to get it taken care of. The costs are simply to cover postage, web-hosting, the band, the hall rental, decorations, and the delicious catered meal. We're doing this again in 5 years. I can't wait, and I hope to see you there.

You can go to the worksource, they will help you get a resume together. You can also ask them if they have a job training program, where you can learn a skill/trade while on the job, while your employer pays a portion of your salary. If you can, while at the library, you can post a resume on line at monster.com and employers will contact you. The first step, though, is get up early in the morning and the next step after that is...go to the library or the worksource...Linda Do you find this valuable?

To all of the past and future committe members, yall are GREAT !! I'm thankful we have classmates who like to plan and organize get togethers. I'm not very good at those things so its worth it to me to pay for it to be done. I'm sorry I had to be out of town for this reunion.

Great, now that is so good. You still might want to try the worksource to get training in a specific skill, so you won't have to deal with having this kind of difficulty in the future...Take care, Linda
